The Nova Scotia Equestrian Federation strives to provide funding where available to members to help further their equine education and pursuits. Below are funding opportunities available for current members.

Athlete Funding 

Support4Sport Athlete Assistance Program - available to individuals who have achieved results at international and/or national competitions.

Deadline:    Eligible Athletes can apply at any time. Applications must be completed and submitted by the applicant and endorsed by the NSEF by the 13th of the month.  Please allow for reasonable time for NSEF to review and endorse. 

Long Term Equestrian Development (LTED) Bursary Program -  awarded to athletes who best demonstrate a continuing commitment towards skill development. Up to four bursaries of $250.00 each are awarded annually to NSEF members who exemplify a commitment to personal long term equestrian athlete development.

Youth Education Bursary - To support the port-secondary educational endeavours of our young members, the NSEF has developed the Educational Bursary Program. This program provides up to six bursaries of $500.00 each awarded annually to NSEF members.

Officials Funding

Support4Sport Official Funding is available to NSEF officials for certification or training initiatives.  Officials will be supported based on the quality of their initiative and their ability to assist the Nova Scotia sport system at all levels.

Deadline: Eligible Officials can apply at any time. Applications must be completed and submitted by the applicant and endorsed by the NSEF by the 13th of the month.  Please allow for reasonable time for NSEF to review and endorse. 

Coach Funding

Support4Sport Coach Funding is available to NCCP Certified Coaches for advanced certification or training initiatives.  Coaches will be supported based on the quality of their initiative and their ability to assist Nova Scotia athletes and coaches at all levels. Only coaches with a minimum Competition Coach certification will be considered. Generally, funding will not be available for traveling to events with athletes.

Deadline: Eligible Coaches can apply at any time. Applications must be completed and submitted by the applicant and endorsed by the NSEF by the 13th of the month.  Please allow for reasonable time for NSEF to review and endorse. 

Club/Association Funding

The Manulife Community Sport Grant is available to NSEF member clubs/associations for projects that are intended to increase sustainable quality participation programs. This may include new programming or the expansion of existing programs.

Deadline: by February 1st and August 1st

The Support4Sport-  Seminars/Clinics Funding  - NSEF Clubs/Associations who are hosting a seminar/clinic may be eligible to receive funding to help offset expenses.  Applicants are encouraged to read the eligibility information  and ensure they meet the criteria before making an application.

Deadline: by the 13th of each month to NSEF for endorsement and subsequent submission.

Application: Seminar/Clinic Funding

The Support4Sport Canada Games Sport Equipment Fund is designed to support  NSEF Clubs/Associations in an effort to increase participation in sport. The fund will support projects that are intended to increase sustainable, quality, participation-based sport programs by helping to offset the cost of sport equipment. This may include new programs or the expansion of existing programs.
